He Came Looking for You

"What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?" - Luke 15:4

Most people don’t count what’s missing. We count what we have. We track success by what stayed, by who showed up, and by how much was retained. But Jesus flips that. He counts what is missing.

In Luke 15, Jesus tells a story that shows us the heart of God. A shepherd has one hundred sheep, and one wanders off. The shepherd doesn’t settle for what’s left. He doesn’t say, “Well, I still have ninety-nine.” He leaves the flock to go after the one. Why? Because the one matters.

That’s how Jesus sees you. He’s not content with you drifting. He’s not satisfied if you’re around the right places but disconnected from Him. If you’ve wandered, He notices. And He moves. He comes to find you. Not to condemn you. Not to embarrass you. He comes to carry you back.

There is no such thing as too far gone. Heaven doesn’t shrug at your story. When someone turns back to Jesus, even if it’s messy and unsure, heaven throws a party. That is how much you matter to Him.

Maybe you’re that one today. Maybe nobody else even sees how far you’ve drifted. But Jesus does. And He is not waiting for you to clean yourself up. He is stepping into the chaos to get you. Let that sit with you. The King of kings is after you. Not to punish. To rescue. Not to shame. To restore. He sees you. He wants you. And He’s coming for you because you are worth it.
