You Can Be Sure

“In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” – Colossians 1:14

Some people walk around wondering if they are truly saved. They replay mistakes in their mind, listen to the whispers of doubt, and hope that one day they’ll be “good enough” to feel secure in their faith. But if your salvation is based on your performance, you’ll never have peace. That’s not how it works.

Colossians 1:14 is clear. Redemption and forgiveness are not future hopes to work toward. They are present realities for those who belong to Jesus. You have redemption. You have forgiveness. This isn’t a maybe. It’s a guarantee. It was secured not by your efforts, but by His blood. And what Jesus accomplished, no failure or force can undo.

If you’re in Christ, you’ve been bought back. The price was His life, and the result is your freedom. God didn’t write your name in pencil, waiting to see how well you do. He etched it in eternity because of what Jesus already did. That means you don’t have to live in constant fear, wondering if you’re still accepted. You are.

Salvation was never about you being strong enough to hold on. It’s about God being strong enough not to let go. And He won’t. So stop measuring your standing with God by how you feel or how well you’ve performed this week. Instead, look to the cross and the empty tomb. That’s your evidence.

God’s grace doesn’t create insecurity. It brings assurance. You can walk with confidence, not because of what you’ve done, but because of who holds you. If He forgave you, then you are forgiven. Period. So breathe. Rest. And move forward in the kind of boldness that only comes from knowing you are truly His.
