Don’t Miss Thanksgiving

“Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice.” – Luke 17:15

Ten men cried out for mercy. All of them were lepers, desperate and unclean, stuck on the outside looking in. When Jesus saw them, He didn’t ignore their need. He spoke healing over them, and they were restored. But only one came back to say thank you.

You would think they’d all return. You would expect that kind of miracle to bring them running. But nine kept going, swept up in the momentum of their breakthrough. Maybe they were in a rush to get home. Maybe they were afraid of being unclean again. Maybe they were just too excited to think about anything else. Whatever their reasons, they missed the most important part. Only one man came back to the Healer, not just the healing.

Gratitude is not just about remembering what you’ve been given. It is about recognizing who gave it. It slows you down. It pulls your attention away from yourself and places it on the One who never owed you anything but gave you everything. And in a world that always wants more, real thanksgiving is rare.

Today might be filled with food, family, or even pain. But somewhere in the mix, you have a choice to make. You can rush past the blessing, or you can stop and return. You can let your healing become routine, or you can fall at His feet in wonder. You can be one of the nine, or you can be the one who turns around.

Gratitude has a way of changing how you walk. Not just today, but tomorrow too. So let this be more than a day on the calendar. Let it be a day you come back to Jesus, not just for what He’s done but for who He is. That kind of thanksgiving is what makes you whole.
