When Glory Takes on Flesh
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." - John 1:14
In the Old Testament, the glory of God was something people approached with fear and caution. It appeared in clouds, fire, temples, and tabernacles. It was real, but it was distant. People could only catch glimpses of it from afar. They knew God was powerful, holy, and present, but they could not come close. Then everything changed. The glory that once filled mountains and rooms stepped into human time and wrapped itself in human skin. The glory of God took on flesh.
When Jesus was born, the glory that had always been above us walked among us. He did not come with thunder or clouds. He came in humility. He came in compassion. He came with hands that touched the sick, feet that walked dusty roads, and a heart that loved people who felt forgotten. For the first time in history, you could look at a person and see exactly what God is like.
If you want to know how God treats sinners, look at Jesus. If you want to know how God responds to fear, weakness, or shame, look at Jesus. If you want to know God’s heart for the broken, the lonely, or the proud, look at Jesus. Everything the Father is has been revealed perfectly in the Son.
The glory that once felt unreachable has become personal. You do not have to wonder who God is or what He is like. You do not have to guess what He thinks about you. Jesus removes the confusion. He shows you the kindness of God, the patience of God, the holiness of God, and the mercy of God in a way your heart can understand.
If you feel unsure about God or distant from Him, look again at Jesus. Watch how He speaks, how He loves, how He restores. The glory that once seemed far away has walked into your world so you can know Him fully. When glory takes on flesh, God becomes unmistakably clear.
